Underfloor heaitng under tiles installation with your own hands in 8 steps

1. Measure heating area

Step back from the wall for about 100mm, in the room mark out the area that is needed to be heated. It is recommended not to heat the floor in the space with the furniture: wardrobes, bedside tables, dressers and etc. You have to exclude this area from the heating area. Measure the final area. Let's assume that the area is 5 m2. Choose the needed length of heating section.

2. Do you need thermal insulation?

If you have unheated rooms under you, for example, you are installing underfloor heating on the ground floor, balcony or sauna, we recommend you to stack a special cold thermal insulation.

3. Get ready with a space for heating controller.

Decide where to place the heating controller, get ready with the hole in the wall for rosette plate. The heating controller will be set here.  You'd better choose a place not more than 50mm away from a plug.Make an embayment – chase 20*20mm cross-section toward the floor.

4. Mounting band installation.

Install metal mounting band on area marked out for heating. Fix it to the floor by pitch of 500-700mm.

5. Underfloor heating stacking.

It is better to start heating section stacking without stacking of so-called cold end of a power cable that is put into a chase and put out on the floor. Place the heating section with a slight drag on marked out heating area. Fix the cable in mounting band by pitch of 75-150mm.

Put a corrugated conduit into the chase for temperature detector. Plug and lodge the end of the corrugated conduit. Put the heating controller into the corrugated conduit. Test assymetrical conductivity absence between heating core and safety-ground conductor. Measure heating section resistance, it has to follow the passport value. Write down the value in the passport.

6. Grout the underfloor heating underlayment.

Draw the stacking scheme of heating section in passport. The floor with a heating section grout with cement sand not more than 50mm in thickness for making the flooring basement. After the morter sets, stack any flooring (eg.,tiles)

7. Heating controller setting

Test assymetrical conductivity absence between heating core and safety-ground conductor and heating detector resistance. Set the heating controller into the plug, linking-up needed wiring.

8. Test the underfloor heating work

Switch on the heating controller and check system operability.
